BREAKING STORY – The 32 year old mother who allegedly killed her four children with a sludge hammer in Mhlabubomvu locality, at Ngcobo has succumbed to death in the early hour of Sunday, 20 November 2022.
Nomboleko Simayile faced four counts of murder after she battered her four children, aged between the ages of two and eleven.
According to the police statement issued by the Eastern Cape Police Spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana whilst she was in police custody on Sunday afternoon the 20th November 2022, she reported to the police that she was not feeling well, but did not say what the nature of the sickness was. She was then immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, where she allegedly died. The cause of death is yet to be established, once the post mortem has been conducted.
Subsequently to that, Simayile family laid to rest their four children on 18th November 2022 where a delegation from the office of the premier of the Eastern Cape also attended the funeral. Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane, Social Development MEC Bukiwe Fanta and Education MEC Fundile Gade were also amongst other people from the Eastern Cape government who attended the funeral.
Nomboleko had already appeared at the Ngcobo Magistrate’s Court, her case was postponed for the 29th of November for a bail application.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has opened a murder case to conduct a full investigation for the death of Nomboleko Simayile
